Hello folks.
As we know, JK2 has been on Humbe Bundle for some time now. While it's unfortunate that there is no obvious way to get to 1.02, and that not all servers are back up yet, what time better to promote Jedi Outcast? Not all of you are into no force, as I know, however the lightsaber combat alone is what I've chosen as the selling point - as well as being my personal area of interest.

What I'm about to do is creating a series of well documented videos on how JK2's lightsaber combat works, covering all the basics, to the most advanced stuff I've hardly discovered myself yet. People care about Star Wars these days, and more and more people demand more dynamic and skillful sword fighting games. So this is my attempt to reach out to those who are missing out!

I intend to share this (with some help) on websites that get a lot of attention, however first I'm going to get this ball rolling just a little further, so in case you feel like spreading this around the globe... do that, but wait a little bit first ^^.

To back up these videos, I'm working on a saber combat wikia for JK2 1.02, which hasn't got much content yet:
http://jk2saberguide.wikia.com/

And here's the introduction video I've made: (do watch in 60fps!)

Loved your introduction video, very well made, looked really nice and your moderation sounds harmoniously :> It actually would be the first time that someone uses his voice. So great job there!

However I guess we all have only a feeling for how the combat system works but if you really want to know it, you should not hesitate and consider asking Reality. It will open your eyes actually. He has studied the codes like nobody else and I remember that he often explained why something is parrying or which attributes the stances have. He can easily look it up, give you the exact probabilities, range, angles, damage details and so on. I always find it a pity that there is no real wiki about all this. On the other side I'm sure you want to keep it simple and entertaining in the first place - not making it a science :D So ye I guess you should focus on the video tutorial aspect =)

btw. here you can get some good advises too :D

Thanks guys!
Indeed, it would be nice to see some of my claims backed up by code, but I'm starting to get a fairly accurate picture of how it works. I've spent countless hours just testing out all the possibilities I can think of. I don't know Reality myself, but if I happen upon him, I would surely be grateful for some hard facts, for example a real run-though of the chance element, or maybe a mod to debug the hitbox of the player and saber.

I am actually treating this more or less as a science, or even a martial art, no matter how silly that sounds, and have got quite a lot of technical things in store beyond the summary of this video.
Meaning to get on with the next videos quite soon ^^.

Second video is out:

Shouldn't be long until I get some tutorial videos started as well!

There truely seems to be a system as you've shown, never noticed that for real :D This kind of hidden swing if you don't hold but click while chaining is surely underestimated. I always loved rage+fast blue chaining, that's somewhat intense =)

Hehe, yes. Rage + late chains is an intimidating and interesting combo.
