Hey,

This is q3dm6 which comes from the game Quake III Arena. I'll upload it here for those interested, it will be hosted sometimes at my server if people are interested.

Features:

3 Big shields, 2 bactas and few small ones. No ammo yet as I'm too lazy.
Functionable pushpads.
Insane shaders made by the Quake 3 team.
Custom flags.
Rollable stairs (for jk2).
Moving sky - Albeit from Quake 3 directly, aka enjoy your pixels!


Map doesn't have any botroutes, nor a place to ff/pp/duel/cty/ctf/jedimaster/holocron or anything of sort. It's purerly a 1v1 or FFA map.
I don't take credits for this map at all, I only converted it and made sure it was playable for jk2.
The PK3 file is a mess, and I just get a headache sorting through the files there, if anyone would volunteer in looking into it and removing all the unneccessary crap you're welcome to do so and post the thinner version!

Exactly this map was asked for converting. I didn't do so because of no escape-ability in lame fights.
But now where you can use all forces in one person (Holocron mode), it would be cool. However no one played that gametype :P I'm having a look at it later. GJ on this tho, Faden!

btw. you can simply open the .map with an Editor and replace the names with jk2 ammo names, so you don't have to replace it in radiant ;)

Edit: Wow, it looks really good. How did you fix the texture alignments? Manually? It worked for me some time ago to convert from .bsp to .map without losing texture alignments. I used Netradiant 1.5 for converting. Unfortunately it doesnt work anymore O_o

Also I can give you the typically jump sounds from the launches/boosters =) I love how the shaders are working nicely! =D Also nice, that you didn't use -vis obviously. So wh works everywhere =D

Basicly models/textures was a headache and I did a lot of it manually while looking at the map in Quake 3.
I do have the jumppad sound, however since it bugs out if you land on someone's head on the pushpad I decided to leave it out.

I think it needs sound =D I don't know the difference between trigger_push and the trigger_multiple but both have the 'problem' with head jumping I think. But I'm not sure what you mean with that. There is only one difference: trigger_multiple works not with wall running but that's not a problem in this Map, I guess.

But you can just place a trigger there which activates a sound - but not sure about synchronisation :P

and what about map music =D

btw. are you sure this is the original size? It seems so small =D There are some places u can hardly strafe jump because there are obstacles at the ceiling. The doors are a bit small as well :D

By landing on someone's head I mean that 1 person will be stuck inside the trigger all the time, because another player is standing on his head and blocking the push. The sound would just repeat itself over and over, but I guess that can be fixed with some sort of delay so it doesn't trigger instantaneously.

The filesize is already so big so I won't include the music.

It's original size, I haven't resized it anything. It's not very easy to strafejump in indeed, but there are ways. Door's are fine for me, they have great boost. ^^

Let me know if anything else is on your mind.
